Electricity Passport – Targeted SFS 6002 Training for Workers

Cad Sä Oy has developed the Electricity Passport, a new training model in which SFS 6002 training is carefully tailored to the specific electrical tasks each participant will perform in their project. The training is designed especially for workers arriving in Finland from abroad to complete a specific part of a project. This ensures that participants fully understand and comply with Finnish electrical safety requirements relevant to their own role.

The Electricity Passport is more than training – it’s professional onboarding 

The content of the training can be customized based on the site’s requirements, job roles, and participants’ skill levels. It emphasizes practical situations, work methods, and safety guidelines that workers need in the actual project they’ve been hired for.

We are launching customized Electricity Passport training programs specifically for shipbuilding projects, where much of the electrical and automation work is carried out by professionals from outside Finland. In such projects, tasks are strictly defined, schedules are tight, and there is no room for ambiguity when it comes to safety. The Electricity Passport ensures that each worker receives clear and targeted training that matches their role and responsibilities at each phase of the shipbuilding project.

Clarity is key to safety – language must not be a barrier 

The training is always delivered in a clear and understandable way – in English or with a professional interpreter if needed. We work with experienced interpreters, especially for Russian and Polish, which are common languages among workers at Finnish shipyards and industrial sites. This ensures that language is never a barrier to understanding or applying electrical safety.

The Electricity Passport program uses multilingual materials, visual presentations, and clear real-life examples that support learning regardless of cultural or linguistic background. Safety instructions must never be guesswork – every participant must know exactly what is expected of them, and why.

The Electricity Passport can be organized on a tight schedule before work begins, whether on-site, remotely, or in a combined format. At the end of the training, each participant receives an Electricity Passport card and a separate certificate indicating the scope and content of the training. This assures both the employer and the client that the worker has been trained according to the SFS 6002 standard and understands the core principles of Finnish electrical safety.
